Commission Regulation (EC) No 1477/2000 of 10 July 2000 laying down the reduced agricultural components and additional duties applicable from 1 July 2000 to the importation into the Community of goods covered by Council Regulation (EC) No 3448/93 under Europe Agreements

THE COMMISSION OF THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES,

Having regard to the Treaty establishing the European Community,

Having regard to Council Regulation (EC) No 3448/93 of 6 December 1993 laying down the trade arrangements applicable to certain goods resulting from the processing of agricultural products(1), as last amended by Regulation (EC) No 2491/98(2), and in particular Article 7 thereof,

Whereas:

  1. Protocol 3 on trade in processed agricultural products between the Czech Republic and the Community was amended by the Protocol for the adaptation of the Europe Agreement with the Czech Republic following enlargement and the Uruguay Round(3), which entered into force on 1 December 1998.

  2. Protocol 3 on trade in processed agricultural products between the Slovak Republic and the Community was amended by the Protocol for the adaptation of the Europe Agreement with the Slovak Republic following enlargement and the Uruguay Round(4), which entered into force on 1 November 1998.

  3. Protocol 3 on trade in processed agricultural products between the Republic of Hungary and the Community was amended by the Protocol for the adaptation of the Europe Agreement with the Republic of Hungary following enlargement and the Uruguay Round(5), which entered into force on 1 January 1999.

  4. Protocol 3 on trade in processed agricultural products between Romania and the Community was amended by the Protocol for the adaptation of the Europe Agreement with Romania following enlargement and the Uruguay Round(6), which entered into force on 1 January 1999.

  5. Protocol No 3 on trade in processed agricultural products between Bulgaria and the Community was amended by the Protocol for the adaptation of the Europe Agreement with Bulgaria following enlargement and the Uruguay Round(7), which entered into force on 1 July 2000.

  6. Protocol No 2 on trade in processed agricultural products, as amended by the protocol amending the Europe Agreement with the Republic of Estonia(8), entered into force on 1 September 1999.

  7. Protocol No 2 on trade in processed agricultural products, as amended by the protocol amending the Europe Agreement with the Republic of Lithuania(9), entered into force on 1 September 1999.

  8. Protocol No 2 on trade in processed agricultural products, as amended by the protocol amending the Europe Agreement with the Republic of Latvia(10), entered into force on 1 March 2000.

  9. The duties resulting from those measures may not exceed those applicable under the Common Customs Tariff.

  10. Commission Regulation (EC) No 1460/96(11), as amended by Regulation (EC) No 2495/97(12), establishes the detailed rules for implementing the preferential trade arrangements applicable to certain goods resulting from the processing of agricultural products, as provided for in Article 7 of Regulation (EC) No 3448/93,

HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION:

Article 1

This Regulation lays down the reduced agricultural components applicable, from 1 July 2000, to imports of goods covered by Regulation (EC) No 3448/93, for which a reduction in the agricultural component is provided for by the preferential agreements concluded with the countries concerned, and the corresponding reduced additional duties.

Article 2

The amounts indicated in Annexes I and II shall be applicable to imports from the Czech Republic under the conditions laid down pursuant to Protocol 3 of the Agreement on trade and trade-related measures concluded with the Czech Republic.

The amounts indicated in Annexes III and IV shall be applicable to imports from the Slovak Republic under the conditions laid down pursuant to Protocol 3 of the Agreement on trade and trade-related measures concluded with the Slovak Republic.

The amounts indicated in Annexes IX and X shall be applicable to imports from Romania under the conditions laid down pursuant to Protocol 3 of the Agreement on trade and trade-related measures concluded with Romania.

Article 3

This Regulation shall enter into force on the day of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Communities.

It shall apply from 1 July 2000.

This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States.
