Decision of the EEA Joint Committee No 36/2012 of 30 March 2012 amending Annex I (Veterinary and phytosanitary matters) to the EEA Agreement

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, as amended by the Protocol adjusting the Agreement on the European Economic Area, hereinafter referred to as ‘the Agreement’, and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

  1. Annex I to the Agreement was amended by Decision of the EEA Joint Committee No 3/2012 of 10 February 2012(1).

  2. Commission Implementing Decision 2011/403/EU of 7 July 2011 amending Annexes II and III to Decision 2010/221/EU as regards the withdrawal of an eradication programme regarding bacterial kidney disease for the territory of Great Britain and the approval of a surveillance programme regarding ostreid herpesvirus 1 μνar for Guernsey(2) is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

  3. This Decision concerns legislation regarding veterinary matters. Legislation regarding veterinary matters shall not apply to Liechtenstein as long as the application of the Agreement between the European Community and the Swiss Confederation on trade in agricultural products is extended to Liechtenstein, as specified in the sectoral adaptations to Annex I to the Agreement. This Decision is therefore not to apply to Liechtenstein,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

The following indent shall be added in point 94 (Commission Decision 2010/221/EU) in Part 4.2 of Chapter I of Annex I to the Agreement:

  • 32011 D 0403: Commission Implementing Decision 2011/403/EU of 7 July 2011 (OJ L 180, 8.7.2011, p. 47).’.

Article 2

The text of Implementing Decision 2011/403/EU in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union, shall be authentic.

Article 3

This Decision shall enter into force on 31 March 2012, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the Agreement have been made to the EEA Joint Committee(***).

Article 4

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union.
