VERORDENING ( EEG ) Nr . 2189/83 VAN DE RAAD

van 28 maart 1983

betreffende de sluiting van de briefwisseling inzake de aanpassing van bijlage B van de regeling met de Verenigde Staten van Amerika betreffende de handel in bepaalde ijzer - en staalprodukten

DE RAAD VAN DE EUROPESE GEMEENSCHAPPEN ,

Gelet op het Verdrag tot oprichting van de Europese Economische Gemeenschap , inzonderheid op artikel 113 ,

Gezien het voorstel van de Commissie ,

Overwegende dat de Raad bij Verordening ( EEG ) nr . 2869/82 ( 1 ) de sluiting van een regeling met de Verenigde Staten van Amerika betreffende de handel in bepaalde ijzer - en staalprodukten heeft goedgekeurd ;

Overwegende dat in bijlage B van de regeling is bepaald dat de lijst van NIMEXE-posten waarop deze regeling betrekking heeft , naderhand door deskundigen van beide partijen zou worden geverifieerd en aangepast ;

Overwegende dat deze verificaties hebben aangetoond dat de produkten waarop de regeling betrekking heeft met grotere nauwkeurigheid door NIMEXE-nummers dienen te worden aangegeven ,

HEEFT DE VOLGENDE VERORDENING VASTGESTELD :

Artikel 1

1 . De briefwisseling inzake de aanpassing van bijlage B van de regeling met de Verenigde Staten van Amerika betreffende de handel in bepaalde ijzer - en staalprodukten , wordt namens de Europese Economische Gemeenschap goedgekeurd voor zover deze regeling betrekking heeft op produkten welke onder het Verdrag tot oprichting van de Europese Economische Gemeenschap vallen .

2 . De tekst van de briefwisseling is bij deze verordening gevoegd .

Artikel 2

De Voorzitter van de Raad wordt gemachtigd de persoon aan te wijzen die bevoegd is de briefwisseling te voeren ten einde daardoor de Europese Economische Gemeenschap te binden .

Artikel 3

Deze verordening treedt in werking op de dag van haar bekendmaking in het Publikatieblad van de Europese Gemeenschappen .

Deze verordening is verbindend in al haar onderdelen en is rechtstreeks toepasselijk in elke Lid-Staat .

These changes are reflected in the enclosed new Appendix B , as amended .

Dear Sir Roy ,

This is in response to your letter of 29 March 1983 transmitting to the US Government a revised version of Appendix B to the Arrangement concerning trade in certain steel products between the European Communities and the United States . I am pleased to confirm that the revised Appendix B reflects the agreement reached by both parties in January to make certain amendments to the NIMEXE codes referred to in Appendix B .

The above is without prejudice to changes that may be required to cover any discrepancy in Appendix B found by either party subsequent to the January agreement .
