Council Decision (CFSP) 2022/1335 of 28 July 2022 amending Decision 2012/285/CFSP concerning restrictive measures directed against certain persons, entities and bodies threatening the peace, security or stability of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau

THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN UNION,

Having regard to the Treaty on European Union, and in particular Article 29 thereof,

Having regard to the proposal from the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy,

Whereas:

  1. On 31 May 2012, the Council adopted Decision 2012/285/CFSP(1).

  2. The Council considers that the title of Decision 2012/285/CFSP should be amended.

  3. The Council considers that seven persons should be removed from the list of persons subject to restrictive measures set out in Annex II to Decision 2012/285/CFSP and that nine persons should be removed from the list of persons subject to restrictive measures set out in Annex III to that Decision.

  4. Decision 2012/285/CFSP should therefore be amended accordingly,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

Decision 2012/285/CFSP is amended as follows:

  1. the title is replaced by the following:

    ‘Council Decision 2012/285/CFSP of 31 May 2012 concerning restrictive measures in view of the situation in Guinea-Bissau and repealing Decision 2012/237/CFSP’;

  2. Annexes II and III are amended in accordance with the Annex to this Decision.

Article 2

This Decision shall enter into force on the day following that of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.

(1) In Annex II to Decision 2012/285/CFSP (List of persons referred to in Articles 1(1)(b)), the entries concerning the persons listed below are deleted:

  1. General Augusto MÁRIO CÓ

  2. General Saya Braia Na NHAPKA

  3. Colonel Tomás DJASSI

  4. Colonel Celestino de CARVALHO

  5. Major Samuel FERNANDES

  6. Commander (Navy) Agostinho Sousa CORDEIRO

  7. Lieutenant Lassana CAMARÁ’.

(2) In Annex III to Decision 2012/285/CFSP (List of persons, entities or bodies referred to in Article 2), the entries concerning the persons listed below are deleted:

  1. General Augusto MÁRIO CÓ

  2. General Saya Braia Na NHAPKA

  3. Colonel Tomás DJASSI

  4. Cranha DANFÁ

  5. Colonel Celestino de CARVALHO

  6. Tcham NA MAN (a.k.a. Namam)

  7. Major Samuel FERNANDES

  8. Commander (Navy) Agostinho Sousa CORDEIRO

  9. Lieutenant Lassana CAMARÁ’.
