Political and Security Committee Decision (CFSP) 2025/2010 of 25 September 2025 on the appointment of the EU Mission Force Commander of the European Union CSDP Military Training Mission in the Central African Republic (EUTM RCA) and repealing Decision (CFSP) 2024/2192 (EUTM RCA/1/2025)

THE POLITICAL AND SECURITY COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Treaty on European Union, and in particular Article 38 thereof,

Having regard to Council Decision (CFSP) 2016/610 of 19 April 2016 on a European Union CSDP Military Training Mission in the Central African Republic (EUTM RCA)⁽¹⁾, and in particular Article 5(1) thereof,

Whereas:

1. Pursuant to Article 5(1) of Decision (CFSP) 2016/610, the Political and Security Committee (PSC) is to exercise the political control and strategic direction of the European Union CSDP Military Training Mission in the Central African Republic (EUTM RCA), and is authorised to take the relevant decisions in accordance with Article 38 of the Treaty, including decisions on the appointment of subsequent EU Mission Force Commanders.

2. On 27 August 2024, the PSC adopted Decision (CFSP) 2024/2192⁽²⁾, appointing Brigadier General Nicolae-Gabriel OROS as the EU Mission Force Commander of EUTM RCA.

3. On 5 August 2025, the Romanian military authorities proposed the appointment of Brigadier General Claudiu-Mădălin TAMAȘ to succeed Brigadier General Nicolae-Gabriel OROS as the EU Mission Force Commander of EUTM RCA.

4. On 8 August 2025, the EU Mission Commander supported the proposal of the Romanian military authorities.

5. On 14 August 2025, the EU Military Committee recommended that Brigadier General Claudiu-Mădălin TAMAȘ be appointed as EU Mission Force Commander of EUTM RCA as from 30 September 2025.

6. A decision on the appointment of Brigadier General Claudiu-Mădălin TAMAȘ as EU Mission Force Commander of EUTM RCA should be taken and Decision (CFSP) 2024/2192 should be repealed,
